The immense military advantage that air power confers on the West is an advantage not fully realised by many uninformed politicians and generals.  The most successful air campaign in history, 'Instant Thunder', was the centre-piece of Operation Desert Storm, the US-led war against Iraq from 17 January to 28 February 1991.
